Wings and Wheels Arrival Procedures

From the North

  • Listen to Martin ATIS/AWOS on 124.925.
  • Contact the Martin Tower 10 miles out on 121.3 for vectors to cross the Martin State Airport at 1500 feet, descending into Essex.

From the East

  • Monitor 122.7.
  • Report south of Hart Miller Island direct to the field.

From the West

  • Stay outside the DC Special Flight Rules Area (ADIZ).
  • Monitor 122.7.
  • Report 5 miles.

From the South

  • Stay east of the DC Special Flight Rules Area (ADIZ).
  • Monitor 122.7.
  • Report 5 miles.

Left hand pattern.

After landing follow flag person for parking.

Essex Skypark is a small, general aviation airport that is publicly owned and open for public use. The airport is located on the Back River, approximately three miles southeast of Baltimore, Maryland. Essex Skypark has a brand new 2,084 by 28 foot asphalt runway and a 3,000 by 300 foot water runway. The water runway is primarily used for ultralight seaplanes.
